In “Religion, culture, curriculum and diversity in the 21st century American” Mary Alice discusses the diversity and disability of learning where there’s a certain roadblock that is present and could prevent a child from learning properly. In the case of Asian American children learning the roadblock can potentially be the fact that they are not adept enough to be able to change focus and learn because they had not felt pressure before. Without the intensity to work hard and be motivated at home they may feel too relaxed which lead to problems in school in terms of being able to grasp complex concepts and working with them to show understanding and mastery.
