I find it very interesting how the article talks about how in our modern day, there aren’t many people who would deliberately send a handwritten letter to a person to thank them. It made me think about when was the last time I got a handwritten or a hardcopy letter, and I think the last time I ever received a letter was a couple of years ago, it was from a teacher telling me they were very proud of me and hope I continue to work on my studies. Aside from advertisements and normal mail-like credit card applications, it is kinda funny and sad that some people never receive thank you letters. I feel like writing letters and sending them in today’s era, looks way more formal, more memorable, and sweeter than sending an electronic email. Like if you get a raise or get a better position for your job, it will be much appreciated if you send a thank you letter to your boss to build a closer connection and be more formal. In my experience, I keep birthday cards from the past years because I appreciate them more than a text messages.
There are many people in my life who I would like to thank, to list them out, this statement would be like 10 pages long. Instead, I would just like to broadly thank these people. I would thank my family for they are the ones who are always by my side. My siblings are the ones who showed me what it means to be the oldest, they will always be the ones I thank first. My parents are a close second, they are the ones that taught me everything, my character, my thoughts, and my choices, who I am today is the way my parents made me, they showed me how to think, how to act, and how to care. Now that I am on my own, they will always be the ones who I will continue to thank. Close behind are my friends, my friends from college, high school, middle school, and even elementary school. Everyone I’ve met has helped in many ways, they were always there to laugh with, hang out with, to live with. Each person has inspired me to be better, to be more of myself, to think of myself and how I want to be remembered. Each memory I have from friends and family can be summed up using this one quote, “As such I have no regrets in meeting you, friend. Should the day ever come that we are not together, you will continue to shine like gold in my memories.”. – Zhongli
It feels like this is my last message to all my friends but in reality, I’m probably still gonna see them around the halls or in my classes.
