Overall, I feel I have gained a little more confidence as a writer this semester. I feel that my growth hasn’t been anything crazy but it’s definitely noticeable. I was able to experiment more with my style of writing this semester and I enjoyed this class’s freedom. As for writing goals, I didn’t have any to begin with since I’m not an avid writer. Though I am always looking to improve in any way shape or form so I guess this applies to writing too. I feel my writing did improve even if it’s just a notch but I guess that’s enough for me.
The assignment that I enjoyed the most this semester was the literacy narrative. I feel that I expressed my thoughts clearly and concisely here and I had no restraints. The requirements for this project were very lenient and I got to tell my story how I wanted. This assignment felt more fun compared to all the other essays I wrote in the past and it’s the most memorable too. I feel this is how English assignments should be structured and through my enjoyment I was also able to muster my highest project grade for the semester here.
For challenges, I honestly felt that every assignment posed a bit of difficulty in its own regard. However, I think the rhetorical analysis paper was the most challenging just by a hair since I haven’t written in this style in a while. I was also pretty stumped by how I would analyze the story without retelling too much of it. Through it all, I still persevered to the end and here we are now the final assignment. Overall it was an indubitably fun ride and I’ll remember my time spent in this classroom for a while.
