I chose to create a flyer to encourage people to attend a meeting in which the challenges that AI brings to education will be deeply analyzed. I would like to include data, graphs, charts, and even first-hand opinions. I would also like to get feedback on what the students attending think about this Artificial Intelligence. As many people are not informed about its impact, I would also like to expand these meetings outside of campus to include a more age-diverse public. With this, I hope to inform people about a fast-changing future and the downsides it brings to our already functional and developed education system, as well as how it can also impact the long run. As it impedes the developemnt of critical thinking and other skills needed in the workplace.

AI’s effect on education, and work.

AI was popularized recently, and with it being so available to everyone, problems have accompanied it. AI in education can positively affect the learning and working experience as it provides sources and could be used as a research tool. The other side is that there is no limit to how it can be used for education, leading to students cheating on assignments and even plagiarizing writings created by this intelligence.

Education for immigrant adults in the US.

The U.S. system provides public and free education up to the 12th grade which plays a huge role in immigrant kids’ education as it teaches them the language and knowledge that they will need to apply later in their lives. What about adults? They need some education to adapt to the new environment, right? I believe the system does not offer enough programs nor spread enough awareness of this. Immigrant parents can spend their whole lives without learning the language as it is not encouraged.

Public Transportation: Fare Evasion.

New York’s public transportation system has always battled the same timeless problem, fare evasion. This is a controversial topic as some people believe stronger punishment, and consequences should be taken for people who evade the fare. Others argue that this is just a sign of poverty and that fares should be lowered for low-income riders.

” Any technology can be both beneficial and harmful. The outcome depends on how we use it.”

“The use of AI could diminish a significant portion of human interaction in the learning process, resulting in a loss of social skills and interpersonal development.”

AI can enhance learning by providing new learning styles, as it offers live-time feedback and acts as a research tool that can provide sources for learning. The article talks about how the use of AI could go two different ways and how it should complement, not replace, human instructors. As AI can not teach or give the experience of live learning it could lead to a lack of social skills that are needed for today’s work environment. The article also suggests that policymakers in education fields should carefully navigate the integration of AI into learning environments, and find a balance where AI enhances learning to get the most out of it and human educators remain crucial for a student’s learning and development.

Public Transportation: Fare Evasion: https://prospect.org/infrastructure/transportation/2024-09-19-what-is-fare-evasion-equation/

“If taxes are the price we pay for a civilized society, fares are the price we pay so people don’t have to drive, or walk, or cycle in poorly constructed bike lanes.”

“What is clear is that the MTA will have to find a new response to fare evasion that does not involve blood-streaked subway stations or intensive care units or grieving family, friends, and community members.”

This article starts by talking about aggresive law enforcement, in an incident that was caused because of fare evasion. The actions taken were not appropiate and ended up in the shooting and tassing of the man and injurying four more people that were bystanders. This sparked/intensified the debate about evasion of fares. With some people believing that fares should be free in order to avoid aggresive law enforcement and police interaction over minor infractions. It talks about how the MTA has tried free fare programs such as in buses, but that it needs to look for new strategies to adress these problems and tragic outcomes.

Soft-Boiled Eggs

We’ve all had eggs before, unless you’re allergic. I used to know a kid who was allergic to eggs in elementary and it shook me to my core. Omlettes, scrambled, Benedict, fried, sunny side up, there are lots of ways to make eggs. And if you couldn’t tell yet, I love eggs. A lot. They’re easy to make and I’ve gone though many periods of time where I’d go weeks eating mainly eggs whenever I could, whichever way I could make them. Apparently that was a bad idea because egg yolks are high in cholesterol but I didn’t care, and still don’t care much currently. Everything in moderation still applies, though.

Today, I’ll be showing, well, telling, you how to make soft boiled 6-minute eggs.
What you’ll need is:
– 2 eggs, or one but today we’re gonna use two
– a pot, preferably small
– tap water
– salt, since I salt my eggs to hell and back
– working stove. Or fire source
– metal spoon
– paper towel

1. Run tap water into a pot of your choice and place it onto your stove. Turn on the main burner and leave it on high for the water to boil.
2. Set the eggs to the side, don’t place them into the pot just yet you have to let them rest first
2. Wait for the water to reach a point of boiling to where it’s all bubbly and makes enough noise for you to hear it from the far end of the kitchen. You can waste time waiting for the minutes to pass by obsessively checking the other knobs on the stove to ensure that all of them are actually off and that your house won’t be exploding today.
3. Use a metal spoon to gently place each egg into the pot. It’s fine if they crack but it’s not ideal.
4. Set the fire to medium as soon as you’re done putting eggs into the pot. Leave the eggs in for 6-7 minutes to ensure the whites are cooked throughly.
5. After the 6 minutes are up, quickly take the pot off of the stove and pour the water into the sink. You’ll be putting cold running water into the pot now to cool the eggs down and ensure a quick peeling process.
6. After about 2 minutes, get a paper towel sheet and place it on the table, and the eggs onto the sheet. To peel the eggs, crack a few times on a corner then gently brush the eggshell off with your thumb.
7. After peeling the first egg, grab a salt shaker, or a pinch of salt, and salt the egg. You are free to eat the egg now :).
8. Repeat step 7 with the second egg and enjoy.

Everyday Breakfast

Egg and turkey tortilla.

Ingredients

For this ‘simple’ but delicious and enjoyable meal you would need a few ingredients that you probably already possess. First of all, you will need to grab two or three eggs and this varies on how much you desire to eat. Next off is the sliced turkey it is possible to also make this meal with jam, but my personal recommendation is using turkey since it complements the egg in a more appetizing way. Butter will be our last ingredient in this recipe, an alternative for this ingredient could also be olive oil.

Preparation

Step one:
Grab a bowl and have the three eggs within reach, now you will need to crack the eggs open and put them in the bowl.

Step two:

Grab the ham and tear it slice by slice until the desired amount is reached, now put it in the bowl with the eggs.

Step three:
With a fork, you will mix it clockwise, so the yolk is broken and now together with the rest of the mix.

Step four:

Place a pan on the stove and turn it on. Wait until it is hot. Now cut a piece of butter and spread it on the pan.

Step five:
Drop the mix in the pan and ensure it spreads through the whole pan. Wait approximately five minutes and flip the tortilla, this way the other side will get cooked, as well. Wait for another five minutes and it should be ready.

Step six:

Turn the stove off, grab a spatula, take out the tortilla, serve it on a plate and now this delicious food is ready to be enjoyed.

Drinks:

My recommendations for drinks that accompany this meal perfectly are orange juice or a fruit shake. For the fruit shake, you would need to slice some strawberries approximately 4, slice a banana, and mix these with orange juice in the blender. Now pour it in a cup and you got yourself a 10/10 start of the day meal.
