Rice, Rice Baby (Angel)

The beginning of the podcast is on introducing and praising rice. It’s described as the main course in of a meal and can be made in so may different ways. I choose this podcast cause it drew my eye since I also eat rice almost everyday. It’s interesting that how rice is raised starting from a crop was included. Questions raised by the podcast that seemed interesting to me was rice could contribute to global warming. Another questionable topic they briefed about is Black farmers. Overall, I liked how I got to learn new facts and questions of topics around a food I’m so used to. It’s like learning something new about a food that you eat everyday without any questions but the next time you eat it, you may stop and recall back to what you learned. I would recommend this podcast to classmates, whether they like or dislike rice, it was pretty entertaining.

Memory of past meal- Angel Zheng

A memory of a recent past meal i had was when i was eating outside with friends. We went to hotpot. Hotpot is like everyone throwing in things in one boiling pot and then taking it out, putting it in you’re own dipping sauce. The most fun part of it is sharing the food and everyone sitting together like a warming gathering. I remeber we had a pot of tomato base and spicy base. I like cooking beef and noodles in the pot along with some vegetables. I love spicy so i cooked it in the spicy base. I remember it being really spicy that day but my sesame oil dipping eased it a lot. It was a friend’s birthday gathering and it was significant to me as we havent been able to gather with everyone in the friend group present in such a long time.

Angel Zheng

Hi! My name is Angel Zheng. I go by she/her pronouns. I haven’t decided on a major yet but probably finance. I was born in America but lived in China for a couple years before coming back for school. I live in Flushing Queens so my commute to school is about an hour. I love eating food especially Korean food and sushi. I don’t like eating garlic but other than that I’m not that big of a picky eater. I love spicy food! I eat out pretty often so I love trying new restaurants. I ate this interesting pork floss cake with taro the other day as I found it unique and was curious to try it. I also drink Starbucks way too much. Attached below is a couple photos of what I like eating regularly.
