This course is helping me understand the binary between college writing English and high school writing. Like college English writing is a bit difficult than high school. But still, the way we learn from this course is we are recovering from the difficulties. This is totally different from other courses where other courses are required to read the chapter and understand the lectures. On the other hand, this course is a bit different by providing group discussion in breakout rooms and discussing each other to understand everyone’s points of view and perspective. However, The most important thing that I have developed over this course is my analysis strategies. For example, I have learned analysis a topic will help to understand the deep meaning of the topic and help to understand the point of view of the writer. While doing the analysis project I have also learned about specific camera shots and movements is necessary to portray a scene or video.

This course has had a somewhat big effect on me. Over the summer before I started classes here at Baruch, I was starting to read more. I was also on a side of social media where people analyzed things a lot. I always thought to myself, “how do I analyze something?” I tried to do it a few times but didn’t know how well I was doing. Now that I joined this class, I know how to analyze works and draw better conclusions out of what I read. This class has changed my understanding of literature since high-school. So, yeah, the class has a big influence for me.

This course has really helped me with my writing and time management. In terms of my writing I’ve learned to analyze things deeper than what is being  projected. In high school most of my essays restricted me from writing about personal things or opinions but with the projects we’ve done so far, I’ve been pushed to add in a story of my personal experience to make my writing better. When it comes to time management, I’m still working on how to prioritize this class with my others but for the most part everything is manageable.
