- Creating an exhaustive documentation can help with writing down all of our ideas. Hengel states how it is important to ask questions about your text and genuinely be curious. I think this is something that I can apply to my text to make things easier. Instead of trying to analyze the text immediately and make my own interpretations, I can brainstorm with questions and answer the questions as I analyze.
- Abdurraqib and Hengel touch base on a song that future wrote about heartbreak. In this song he expressed how he used substances to avoid his pain. In a way Abdurraqib can relate to avoidance of pain. When he mother past away he tried to avoid his healing process. Distractions of other things may had seem like the way out, but it only pushed those feelings aside temporarily. This is important as people can get a sense of comfort by relating to an artist; it’s not just a “regular person” who have traumatic experiences.
