ENG 2100: Writing 1 with Jay Thompson

Nick Serrao Analysis Blog Post 10/18

Starting in 2016-2017, supreme lovers began to start reselling their clothing, because the brand was gaining popularity, and there was not enough to supply the demand. In that time, and still today, Supreme online site is flooded with bots on release day. Bots allow people to get anywhere from one to hundreds of items as soon as the product releases. This created commotion in the supreme community because many people were not able to get the items that they wanted. The people who managed to get the items were able to sell them for a profit if they wanted to, to others who wanted the item. I am not talking about small profits, when it comes to Supremes box logo tees or hoodies, we are talking about hundreds to thousands of dollars in profits depending on colorway, size, and design. In each collection, there is one design of box logo tee with multiple colorways that drops once a per season. In the Fall winter collection, it is usually a hoodie or long sleeve box logo, and in the summer, it is a short sleeve tee shirt. On the Supreme website and in store, these items fly off the shelves in seconds. Personally, I have gotten lucky and have been able to get 2 box logo hoodies in my time of buying supreme. I bought them for a retail price of $168 each and sold both for $800 a piece. If that isn’t considered a side hustle, then I don’t know what is.
