This scene, this work of art initiates with the Joker standing on tall, seconds after he had just tripped on a telephone wire from a pole he had just destroyed. A small portion of the damage and chaos he’d eventually bring on to Gotham City. Within, this split second the only thing you hear, is the Joker’s footsteps as he struts down one of Gotham’s streets. Why does the director start off the scene with the antagonist a.k.a. the Joker tripping over something he had just destroyed? Why have him strut after? I believe it was intentional, foreshadowing the rest of the film. Displaying the Joker’s plan is just on its first page, the damage he just caused and also tripped over if the first taste of chaos Gotham City will feel. Not forgetting Joker’s strut after, exhibiting his pride, holding their head up high with his chest out, exposing absolute confidence of what he will bring upon next.
