College Memehttp://lolimage.com/img/ups/37954027281338818563.jpeg

This meme represents my first three months at Baruch College perfectly, because it happens all the time when we have a test and it is usually true. In high school when you used to finish a test fast, it usually meant that you knew everything cause high school was so much easier compared to college. At Baruch, when you finish a test fast, it usually means that you know absolutely nothing and just want to leave the classroom to go take a nap in the library. There was this one instance that I remember very clearly in my history class. We had our midterm two weeks ago or so, and it was really long and difficult. It took me pretty much the whole class to finish, but this one person finished the exam in literally 15 minutes. From what other people have said, that person did not get a good grade on that exam. This is the perfect situation that resembles this meme. If you do not know anything on the exam, you might as well finish as fast as you can and just leave the classroom to go catch up on sleep. In high school you were not allowed to do that, so if you finished fast that usually meant that you knew everything. In college, that means you do not know anything and want to go sleep or do anything else but be in the classroom.

New York Times reflection

The article that i have chosen for the New York Times front page all have to do with science and technology. Since technology is such a big part of our lives why not be more interested in it. I found out some interesting thing such as information about the history of robots and where they are headed. It is also very nice to know all about the tech and gizmos that are coming out and if they are worth your money.

The images that i have chose to describe who i am and what i like all have to with either cars or computers, but that is not all they are meant to represent. Yes, my favorite hobbies have to do with computers and cars, but there is a good reason that feel that these are the things that describe who i am. Looking at all the images you can see that they all have to do with working with your hands, creating something of your own, and having something unique that nobody else has. When i was working on my computer the other day, putting my own touches on it, i was able to step back and admire and be proud of my workmanship and the fact that it was all done with my own two hands. the same can be said about my car. I love doing my own thing to it, making  it into something unique and something that nobody else has. I hate having that feeling while driving down the round that you’re just like that other person that has the same car as you. I love to stand out from the crowed, showing that i have my own imagination and that i am capable of more. I guess all this tells you that i am the type of person to break the mold and go my own way and peruse my own interest. When people come into my room the first thing they see is a bright complicated looking machine that looks like something they have never seen before and love when they ask me “is that a computer?” and “did you make that yourself?”. Those questions put a smile on my face because it makes me look like a genius in their eyes, but in fact i know that it wasn’t as hard as they think it was. Most people don’t give a second glance at something that seems too complicated, i was always the opposite of that, always wanting to know how the seemingly complicated stuff worked.   When i started i loved how everything quickly became simple and understandable. i loved the fact that i something so complicated to others was simple for me.  I later began to put my own creativity into my computers, creating more complex ones over and over. I sometimes spent hours trying to get everything right and reading about ever last piece of tech news i can find. i don’t care if people think it’s “nerdy”,  just because they don’t understand it doesn’t mean it is bad. My passion for cars has been in me since i was a little kid, always playing with my toy cars or reading car magazines. Now that i finally have my own car i am free to do anything that i want to it. Doing all the work on my car, just like on my computer, gives me a sense of accomplishment that i love. That is who i am, someone who loves their own handiwork

New York Times Reflection

Our group has just recently completed the New York Times project and the topic that we chose to do was technology. We believed this was a very appropriate topic to talk about because of the world that we live in today. It is consumed with technology and the expansion of it. The article that I chose had to do with the expanding market of the Electronic Cigarette. I think that these presentations in class were appropriate as it engaged the students and brought up a whole class discussion.

NY times reflection

Me and my group chose the project events in New York . We chose this topic because it’s a topic that we have a connection to since we live in New York. I did research and found a couple of interesting events but I chose the article on a lecture that seemed interesting to me and maybe to others. This project was intresting and helped me learn a lot about the events in New York.

New York Times Project Reflection

The theme my group chose for the New York Times Project was science. We chose science because science is something that has existed from the beginning of time, and almost everything relates to science in some way or another. Each member of the group had to choose one article that was related to science, and basically summarize it. The article I personally chose to write about was about a project located in Arizona in which solar energy is stored for later use during the night or when solar energy can’t be obtained. The article  I chose suited our theme because in the article innovation to the uses of the energy that exists was discussed, and energy-like most things- relates to science. Overall this was a good experience where I learned not only from myself, but my group members as well.

Dear Professor Dasdfoni,

I’m sorry to say but I will not be able to attend tomorrow’s class. Over the weekend I developed a bad headache that I thought was nothing, but it got worst yesterday after I came home from volunteering for New York Cares. I think it was from being around the smell of compost for several hours. I’m not sure if what I had grew into a migraine or not, but hopefully rest will make it go away, if not I will see a doctor tomorrow.
Thanks and again my apologies,
