Enrichment Workshop Post
As a student in high school, I’ve always been excitied about going to college because of the freedom you get in picking yur own classes, and the responsibilities as a student to maintain good grades. After attending Baruch for the first semester, I have to say I truly enjoy the freedom of going outside for lunch everyday and maybe even going to the library and be able to use my laptop in class. Although attending colleges provide these perks, there are also drawbacks. For example, classes at Baruch are much more academically and mentally demanding than taking classes in high school. Furthermore, the amount of sleep I get in college is much less because I have to communte each day for over 45mins and have to study for each class. Overall, my experience at Baruch for the first semester is not too great, but I will hopefully make it a brighter future for my next semester!

I feel that this meme of a person thinking to himself resembles my 3 months experience at Baruch. I feel that attend a renowned and prestigious college like Baruch means that the classes here will require you to do much thinking. In high school, I feel that the classes were much more laid-back, but in college, the classes require personal devotion. In each and every class at Baruch, I must think deeply and carefully on all the assignments given to me.

My first sem-experence at Baruch. Jim
Before the first day of Baruch, I was very nervous because people around me were saying college is insane with a lot work. However, going through my first semester at Baruch, I am feeling that college is a piece of cake. So far I had no challenge. (I developed a new slogan that “College is like taking candy from a baby.”) Although there was a bit ache I had with very conservative-republican professor, I was able to scratch my back by simply dropping that course. This semester was a good opportunity to get used to Baruch system and get tastes of certain things. From the next semester, I am looking forward to be in classes that I am actually interested in and I am also hoping that I may get linear-democratic professors.

Over the past few months in my first semester here at Baruch, I’ve realized I have a big issue with procrastination. I used to procrastinate in high school because I was able to get away with it being that it wasn’t that hard. I realized that I can’t continue to procrastinate in college after these few months. Organization is my keyword for the upcoming semesters here at Baruch. I thought Baruch was great overall, the only problem I had was with my work ethic. Instead of waiting until tomorrow, I’ll start doing my work as soon as possible. I know now in order to be successful, I have to change my old ways.

Gallery Post
I remember when I found out about the trip, I wasn’t too excited I have to admit. I thought that I was going to die of boredom. Once I arrived at the gallery, my perspective changed on the way I thought about art. I used to think art was only just about pictures that expressed a persons emotions in an extract way, but in the gallery I saw real life events for what they were. I was able to see the emotions, expressions, and thoughts of an individual through their appearances. The pictures enlightened me on historical events I only read about in textbooks, giving me a real picture of what happened during the time through the causalities point of view.

My girlfriend is an art major so naturally she tells me about things that are art related, which happens to include photography! Visiting the art gallery with my FRO class was very interesting because my girlfriend has previously been with me to the Metropolitan Museum of Art and the Museum of Modern Art and has always informed me on the significance of different styles of photography. I walked in and was able to interpret the many amazing photos on the wall which was a great experience. I look forward to going again.

Post Three
I believe this meme describes my experience at Baruch so far because it has been a bit hectic adjusting to a new environment. It used to be that my teachers hassled me to turn in assignments or update me on how I am doing in his or her class but now that I’m in college, that doesn’t happen anymore. I have to be on top of my game and keep footnotes on when assignments are due. So for the least part, it has been frustrated but surprisingly I like it.

So the past semester has passed by really quickly. It feels like I just got here. Although time is flying by I realize that this is just the beginning of my college experience. I still have about seven semester ahead of me. I feel that this first semester was challenging, but I think I was able to handle it. I feel like I was able to manage the papers and the mid-terms well, I hope that I a similar, if not better experience with my finals and final papers. Overall I think that my first semester at Baruch College has gone pretty well, I did not encounter many problems. I hope this continues. Next semester I would like to join a club and become more involved on campus, since this semester all I really did was go to class and then go home. Overall I think I had a good start to my college experience.

first semester…..
This photo on top explains what I’ve been doing during my first semester here in Baruch. I procrastinate a lot and spend my time doing other things( shop, Facebook, hang-out with friends). That is why when the due date for an assignment comes, I rush and spend the whole night doing it. I don’t even proofread it and just give whatever I have.So next semester, I have to get rid of this habit and need to engage myself to be more productive. I wish!!!
Overall, my first semester is not that bad. I’ve met friends and spent a lot of time together. We did the new york times and new york cares project together and had fun. The classes are not that hard and the professors are very helpful.
