Hi, my name is Michael Wysocki, and these are 8 pictures that I think represent who I am. The first picture, of coffee, is of course what’s keeping me up this late, doing this assignment. It is what helps me get through most days and always helps me enjoy my day to its fullest. I have a passion for trying out new foods, but sushi is always on the top of the list. I often say that I could live solely off of eating sushi. The next four pictures show that although I live in a city, I am an out doors kind of guy. I don’t like having to join a team to play a sport, but I really enjoy calling up a few friends on weekends to play a quick pick up game of soccer. Living in the city also means I don’t often get to drive. Despite this, I still love driving. Whether its on the streets of NYC or when I was out on the beautiful roads of Arizona, driving a car is one of the best experiences for me. On the other hand, I like to do things that give you that rush of excitement. Skiing has become one of those things in my life. Every time I stand on the top of a mountain, on the snow, with my skis on, I know that what happens in the next few minutes is all up to me and my abilities. This leads to the next picture, which is the ultimate thing I want to experience. Wing suit gliding, the scariest most absurd thing I have ever seen someone do for “fun”. While all these things may seem crazy, I believe that my desire to overcome my fear of extreme heights is what drives me forward to new experiences. On the calmer side of life, I also like photography. The 7th picture is one I recently took of the Triborough Bridge. The last picture is another one I took, and it is of my dog, who really helped me understand the meaning of the saying “mans best friend.”

Hi my name is Karen. I have been called nicknames such as Karne or Q-Ball before. Sometimes, I may come off as an awkward person. Above, is a link to a video that I think defines who I am. My parents were both born in China and they came to the U.S. as immigrants. I grew up speaking both forms of Chinese to my parents. As a child, I had a passion for music. I liked playing the piano and remembered dedicating about three hours to practice each day. I also played the violin and flute. Music has made me a patient person because I knew that some things cannot be rushed, especially when practicing. In junior high school, I met a group of people. They taught me the meaning of relationship, trust, and friendship. We were an inseparable group of 7. In high school, we were known as the “Loud Group.” Slowly, these people were more than just my friends. They almost held the same importance as my mom and dad. High school was also a time for changes though. I was confused as to what I wanted to become in life. I loved fashion and architecture. I was conflicted between what I want to do and what I should do. In the end, settled for a business major. Designing houses and clothes became a distant dream to me. I hope that one day after I pass my CPA exam, I will go back to school for what I truly like.

Blog Post #1

My name is Marina Stojanovic and as my first slide shows I was born in Mostar, one of the main cities in Bosnia and Herzegovina. It is famous for being the home to the Unesco heritage, Old Bridge of Mostar. Leading into my second slide, I only lived in Bosnia for 4 years and then my journey began, which is represented by the world map. Because of my mother’s job, my family and I move to a new country every three to four years. This has allowed me to visit and experience places like Berlin and Vienna and now New York City. It has given me the opportunity to meet people from all over the world as well as learn about different cultures. This lifestyle has made me a very adventurous person. I love the thrill of getting on scary rollercoasters,  skiing down steep mountains, parasailing, and just doing things that push me out of my comfort zone. Traveling has also introduced me to many different types of cuisine, which resulted in me loving sushi so much that I wouldn’t mind eating it every day for the rest of my life. Growing up, fashion has been one of my biggest passions. I have always enjoyed flipping through magazines and being inspired by designers’ works, creating my own style, and even sewing a few of my own pieces. Being involved in so many different areas and learning about new cultures has taught me to always keep an open mind. I believe that it’s crucial to be open-minded in order to experience the world to its fullest. Lastly, one of my biggest goals in life, no matter what I end up doing, is to make the world a better place in any possible way.

These are eight images that I think depict who I am.

My name is Doyun Kim; the first picture I used was the South Korean flag to show my nationality. I enjoy Korea’s culture and food, and being Korean also impacts me in a big way. The next picture I used is my main hobby; I’m a horticulturist or essentially a fancy word for a gardener. This was also my favorite job, and was a very enjoyable experience for me. I also got to meet Mike Bloomberg through the experience and plant herbs with him which was also cool. The third picture is a guitar; specifically, the model I presently have. I enjoy music in general and still am trying to learn to play guitar, although I also have experience playing the trumpet and saxophone from middle and high school. The next picture with a random girl is from my program where I was a Japanese ambassador; Japanese foreign exchange students visited and I was able to guide them through NYC and made close friends there. I am still a pen pal to the girl shown and it definitely impacted me in a huge way. It was there that I also got submerged into Japanese culture (and the next picture, showing sushi, my favorite food). The next picture is because I’m pretty geeky and play lots of video games and watch movies; it’s a picture of one of the more popular games I play. The two final pictures are to show that I like animals of all variety; the Bronx Zoo is probably my favorite place to go to in New York City. The last picture is my pet cat, Melody, who pesters me to this day.

Above is a list of 10 songs that describe my life. My name is Jazmine, I am a Hispanic American and I live in long island. My mom was born in Peru and my dad was born in El Salvador, therefore making me a first generation American.  I’m a pretty simple person,  respect is my everything. The basic theme of all these songs is that life goes on. Everybody goes through hard times in their lives and these types of experiences shape who people are. People change, people leave, but one cannot regret anything that happens in life because  everything happens for a reason. “Lo que sera, sera.”  That is a Spanish quote meaning ” What will be,  will be.”  So one  just had to let Destiny take on life,  and accept  what comes and goes.

First Post/Assignment 1 Post

Ok so as you can tell through my photos, I love food. Chipotle, Starbucks, Burgers, Waffels…. you name it I’ll eat it. Additionally I harbor a love of the TV series Suits and the game of tennis, me and my dad make it a point to attend the US Open at least every year. And the last thing you need to know about me is that I also dabble a bit in menswear. OH and the twitter screenshot is something I find both amusing and applicable.

Above is a slideshow I made of what I think best describes who I am. My name is Shirley Lin. Although I was born in China, I came to NYC at a young age, two years old. Therefore, I consider myself an American because I don’t even have memories from my two years in China. I try my best to have a positive outlook on things and live life to the fullest. I mean you only get one shot at it so why not be crazy and go for the things you really want to do. One thing I really enjoy is going on adventures and traveling. I want to see as much of the world as I can and experience everything I possibly can. One place I really want to go to is Australia. I can seem to be really shy at first, but I am one of those people where if I really get to know you, you will see a side of me that you didn’t know  existed.

I really enjoy spending time with friends and family. My family consists of me, my parents, my sister, and my brother.  I also really enjoy eating. I can eat everything and I am not afraid to try something new. I also really enjoy singing when no body is around and I think I  am a pretty good singer as well.
