Sorry for posting so late. Anyway, the biggest problem that I have had during this semester was being productive and not getting distracted. I always find myself getting lost on wikipedia or youtube without realizing how much time has gone by. I manage to rationalize it somehow even though deep inside I know I should be doing my work. Looking up tips on productivity doesn’t help either; sometimes that’s all I do (nothing changes!)

Monologue

The transition from high school to college has given me new motivation. Whereas high school had teachers that would monitor your every move, college allows for much more freedom. With this comes more responsibility and no one to blame. I also applaud the fact that classes are not as frequent as in high school, but rather are condensed into more comprehensive sessions, which I think complements my learning style. I believe I will prosper intellectually under these conditions but realize that only through dedication and gradual improvement can I truly get the most out of them. If college continues to be as it is now, I am confident I will succeed.

I’ve decided to create a music playlist to speak for who I am. In this playlist, a listener can find songs from many different genres, because variety keeps things more interesting and entertaining. I included some songs from the genre of house music, specifically because House music and EDM have a soothing effect for me, even though it tends to be very loud. This reflects on the fact that I need to relax every now and then, because I tend to be somewhat anxious.

There are also a couple of rap songs because I realize the profound struggles some people have to face in unfortunate circumstances. This helps me to be grateful for what I have but has also led to me becoming a little cynical. The beats in the songs are also nice. I also included two rock songs that I like, both of which sound pretty cool, which seems to be the norm in this genre.

Finally, I added classical music because of how beautiful it sounds. Sometimes it is nice to just listen to music that does not have any words and is open to interpretation by the listener. Another beautiful song is “The Christmas Song”, by Nat King Cole. I included this song because I can easily picture the scenario that he is singing about, and Christmas is my favorite holiday because it’s a time when everyone is a little less selfish.
