Student Life #2 – Club Fair – Michael Huang

I spent my Thursday afternoon by attending the club fair located in the Main Gym. The gym was packed and all I could hear was hundreds of people speaking all at once in a room not large enough to support the crowd. The music only made the experience worse. The music was way too loud for me to be able to hear the people I was speaking to about the clubs.

I wanted to check out the E Sports club which was conveniently faced the entrance door. I made my way there and I was approached by the cub members immediately. They asked if the
re were games I played such as, “Overwatch, CSGO, League of Legends, and Call of Duty.” I told them that I was not that much of a competitive and serious player. I told them I was more of a casual player and from what I heard from some members, they were competitive and occasionally attended competitions online and at local events. As a person who doesn’t take gaming as serious as most of the members apart of this club, I was not as interested. I did not want to spend that much time playing games, so that I can be on the same competitive level as some of the members. I was offered two sheets paper, with the contact information on them if I ever decide to join. I accepted them and left the gym as soon as possible.

Overall, I think that the club was pretty interesting and since it was new founded, that tells me it will continue to grow over time. However the club was just not the right one for me. Once I was finally out of the gym, I was finally free from the ridiculously loud music. With little time left until my next class, I began making my way towards the old building, for my English class…
