Résumé, a French word, which means “to sum up”, commonly refers to summing up our entire educational, professional life story in a page or more. This plays a vital role in not only applying for a professional job but also for any kind of involvement to any institutional sector. So, for my second blog post I chose to review my resume in STARR Career Development Center which will fulfill my blog requirement and I will also have an attractive resume which will be really helpful for my future career. As I hate taking appointments, so I found out the walk-in times in Starr. I went there with my printed resume on March 9th after my 4pm class. I signed up and waited for 5 minutes. Then Erica, my reviewer came and took me to her chamber. She was really helpful and positive person. She checked my resume and started sorting out the things need to be corrected. The previous resume I made, seeing some websites, had a number of mistakes. She started from the page margin format, name style, and other information. She also showed me how to organize the sections i.e. Education, Work & Professional History, Skills. She showed me how to write bullet points. She gave me some minor tips and tricks which turn the page really attractive and give a clearer view. She told me about how to use the free spaces to make my resume better. She also instructed me about the detailed content, fonts and even spacing which will be really helpful. I also got a clear idea about what I should include about my college career and activities. She also gave me some internal tips about getting involved in some internship and volunteering programs which would be very beneficial for my future career and also decorate my resume which was the biggest takeaway.

At the end, she handed me a booklet with many samples of perfect resumes for future references which I really do appreciate. I strongly recommend everybody to go to Starr at least once to review their resume. I bet nobody will regret.
