Brushie Denburg Blog Post #3

This afternoon I visited the writing center; I have a research paper due for English and I had 10 pages of basically my unedited thoughts in no particular order and paragraphs from sources copied a pasted, all partially to fully relevant to my research topic. I needed to turn these 10 pages into a coherent five page essay and I was having trouble narrowing my focus and getting everything in place. My tutor – is that what they’re called? – with whom I sat for my 25-min walk-in session was able to ask me the firm, right questions to organize my thoughts and thesis in my mind, in order to translate them onto paper and work to fully develop my half-baked ideas. I found it very helpful, now I am just hopeful I have the time and attention span, as well as a good enough thesis and information, to adequately hone it all into a good paper.
