My final blog post would be for Career.
Over the last two weeks, I went to the STARR center for Careers and Jobs multiple times to learn about how I could get an internship before summer came around. I inquired to find out how to do so and the best way they do this by offering consultations on Resumes and mock interviews but primarily through testing what you are looking for as well as how your skills are through the SCDS. The SCDC are: the Strong Interest Inventory and the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator as well as FOCUS-2. They help cue in as to what you would like to do, the skills you never thought you had, and vice versa. It was cool, because I learned how you to could merge interests or majors that seemed unlinked like finance and english. Another cool thing is that I learned you could make your own unique Ad Hoc Major, which if approved, has its own name and uniqueness that could help separate your individual skills in the job sphere.
Overall, it was really cool and I plan on going back to improve my resume soon!
The STARR career center’s extensive resources can only be described as absolutely brilliant. I am glad you are taking advantage of them.
