Diversity Career Expo. ( Daniel Sachkov )

Today, on my two and a half hour break, I decided to make a stop by the Diversity Careers Expo. When I saw this title on the paper I had, I was like ” What can this possible be lmaoo”. I made my way to the 14th floor, and all I saw were suits, suits, and suits! I was the only one wearing sweats and sneakers. Inside the stage room there were many different companies, which I quickly learned, were helping students get internships. It was a positive shock to me when I saw all these students massed into this room all for one purpose. I looked at the layout paper and saw Morgan Stanley. My mother worked for their company for a good 6 years, so I thought it would interesting to hear a thing or to about where my mom used to work. I made my way to the line, waited 5 minutes, assumed that it would be another 25 minutes before I get my chance, so I moved on to CVS Health (image of card below). The fellows I talked to told me I was still to early in the process of getting an internship because I’m a freshman. They were there to show retail management. They motivated me though, by telling me that as time goes on I can still get a very good internship with them. I got into details with them about what specifically they mean by retail management by using the words “assistant manager” and ” front-end”. I told them I had past experience as a front-end manager at a supermarket, and they were impressed. They told me since I have this experience, it would be a lot easier for me to acquire a managerial position in any CVS I apply to, and that I should definitely give it a shot! After I concluded my conversation with them, I went into the middle of the room, and took a good look around. It was satisfying and surprising to see how many students want a chance to be super successful. Not only that, I saw the colossal amount of opportunities there are. BY THE WAY! I saw Dhruv there all suited up rolling his dice with Morgan Stanley, good luck brotha!
