Last week in FYS, we had the STARR Career Center send someone to come speak to us and I found it really useful. It was very resourceful and I feel like I’m going to rely on it a lot for my future plans and career planning or maybe even for internship looking. I also didn’t realize they had an app too which is pretty convenient. I had a math quiz and History test today and I felt like I did well on math and not bad on History which honestly put me at ease so now I can catch up on my project doing this week!

weekly reflection
this is for the second week of October. Once again I probably forgot about it. I spent money on the game again even though I said I would stop playing games. I need to put more of my focus and attention on school instead of on guys and on games.

well this is for the first week of October. I probably forgot to do it since we didn’t have fys one of those weeks. I think every week is the same thing over and over again. I’m tired of having to travel 2 hours to school and two hours back. I’m tired of having to pay for classes I teach and learn myself.

I studied for my history test today. I think I did pretty well other than the fact that I didn’t have enough time to finish my essay. I cut a foot of hair off this weekend and then dyed it blueish gray. It was a pretty big change for me since my hair as always been a big part of me and of who I am.

I enjoyed the presentation given to us on Tuesday. We were shown many tools given to us by Starr. I really liked the option Starr is giving to students pursuing law. Since i wan to be a lawyer and had no idea that Starr offered such tolls. I also liked the job opportunities Starr was offering to students. I also downloaded the app which is very useful and i am able to look for jobs much easier in the future. I went to a study room for the first time in the library. I had to study with a group because of the amount of work we had. It’s cool seeing new things in the library you’ve never seen before.
Weekly Reflection 10/29
In class, everyone presented their monologues, and we all inched closer to the end of FYS and finals. FYS was a great experience for me since it makes everyone be a bit more social and interactive at school, although it will be nice to have a free slot in the middle of my day again. Nonetheless, everyone was able to have some laughs, make new friends, and try new things.

This past week we had someone from the STARR Career Center come to speak to us about what it is. We were all able to pick up great information on everything that it has to offer. Thankfully, I was able to understand that Baruch has something for everyone and that I can utilize all it has through the app called Simplicity.

Last class we had a speaker from the STARR center come talk to us about exploring the STARR center resources. It was very interesting because as I already stated I am looking for a new part time job. I plan on visiting soon so I can get some help with my resume and my job search.

Last week in FYS i learned more about the uses of starr and received a paper full of important events. It was a pretty productive day in that retrospec and i feel i took away greater knowledge in how to use baruch’s resources to my advantage. I even learned more about the lesson in the minors and majors fair because the same lady was there and open to expand upon what she talked about. Nonetheless a great class

This week we had one of more important FYS sessions. With a speaker from the Starr Career Development Center, I got to learn more about the many ways of progressing on my career path with the help of Starr resources. One of the most important things I learned from that session was the Symplicity app and how to use it as a Baruch student. I’ve applied to 2 internships so far through Symplicity so I really appreciate what I learned from this session.
