Kama in Sakuntala

Bashful girl! The man you want

Stands here, dying to fold you in his arms.

The wealth-seeker finds her, or not,

As the goddess Laksmi wills,

But when she herself pursues,

Who can resist her charms?

I think Kama in Sakuntala means nothing that people desire, and hope or even try to own. Sakuntala is really hard for me to understand the deeper meaning. And I am citing these lines was try to show the “Kama” which shows from the King. Those words represent a feeling of ego and he was trying to kiss up a person. The king is drawn to a beauty and now he is delighted to parsing and showing his mind with Sakuntala. the Kama show people pursue nothing they want to own and occupy, like the love in this play. the words will show how a human’s mental activity will going on. this is what I could literally explain about the Kama, I believe there might be a lot more deeper meaning.
