This past Halloween, the MakerHub transformed one of Baruch’s rooms into a vibrant, hands-on Halloween haven, welcoming over 130 enthusiastic students, faculty, and community members for an unforgettable afternoon of creativity, costumes, and camaraderie.
The event took place on October 31 from 12:30 to 2:00 PM at NVC 2-140, and it truly captured the festive spirit of the season.
A Crafty Celebration
From DIY bracelets and hand-decorated cards to personalized canvas bags, our craft stations were buzzing with activity. Tables were piled high with art supplies while we guided participants of all skill levels through fun, approachable projects.

By the end of the day, dozens of new pieces of handmade artwork had found their way into students’ hands, each a one-of-a-kind creation that perfectly blended Halloween whimsy with personal flair.

Costumes & Community
What’s Halloween without a few good costumes? The room was filled with colorful characters—from classic witches and ghosts to pop culture favorites. Attendees posed for photos at our photo booth, showing off their festive outfits against a Halloween-themed backdrop.
Highlights included Ridge dressed to impress as a friendly T-Rex, charming the crowd and drawing in curious visitors. Miles, our event photographer, captured the excitement with a keen eye for detail, ensuring no moment went unnoticed.

A Packed, Positive Atmosphere
The event’s success was palpable. Students chatted and laughed over craft tables, volunteers moved through the crowd offering tips and encouragement, and the steady hum of conversation provided a warm soundtrack to the afternoon.
It was a testament to the power of hands-on learning and community engagement, as well as a reflection of MakerHub’s ongoing mission to inspire creativity, collaboration, and innovation.

As the day wound down, it was clear that this Halloween Craft Fair will be remembered as one of the semester’s standout events.
We’re immensely grateful to everyone who helped make it happen—from the dedicated volunteers who prepared supplies and greeted guests at the Field Center for providing a welcoming space to every student who brought their energy, imagination, and willingness to try something new.
Thanks to all who attended
To those who attended, thank you for making this gathering such a joyful success. And of course, after all that excitement, we hope everyone got a chance to relax, enjoy some well-deserved treats, and savor the sweet memory of a Halloween done right.
