The January 26, 2016 University Business article, “Donors get dibs in higher ed” cites examples of the influence of donors and corporate sponsors at colleges. Donors remain to be some of the most powerful and influential stakeholders of colleges and universities. The question arises as to how well do colleges manage expectations of donors within the boundaries of the mission of the college and the influence donors will have on other stakeholders like students, faculty, staff members, college founders and other donors for that matter.
