I thought I’d share the Oprah Winfrey Interview that ABC did that tells the story of some of the girls that graduated from Oprah Winfrey’s Leadership Academy for Girls. While we did practically “rip-apart” Oprah’s school, I thought was really beautiful to see some of the girl’s inspiring story. Some of the girls did go on to college at a school in America, while others decided to stay in their own communities to make things better.

I thought this was a great overview for those who don’t have access to the documentary. We did mention in class that Oprah was just creating this school so that girls would be able to live our HER dream.. which is interesting because in the interview, one of the first things that she says is “I created this school for girls just like me!”

Although I disagree with how Oprah allocated her resources for just this one school ($40 million to just help 150 people), I still believe this is an incredibly inspiring project that has SAVED the lives of many young girls.
