I would like to refer people to the Center for Effective Philanthropy (CEP).  This is sort of a “think tank” for non-profit funders, Board members and executives, which compiles reports based on qualitative and quantitative data about top-level non-profit governance.  For example, their recent report called “Shifting Winds” (linked to below) presents survey data regarding Foundation CEOs’ views on impact of the Trump Administration on the operations of American non-profits.  Over half of the 150+ CEOs surveyed conclude that the current political leadership will have a negative effect on foundations and the nonprofit sector.

This is the kind of resource that is designed for wealthy philanthropists l, but whose research is relevant to students of nonprofit management and governance.
