We’ve read a lot and talked about the importance of brand for an organization, and last night we also discussed the importance of how we present ourselves in both external and internal communications. This article shares some interesting points on the first part of external communications that most people see: the logo. It’s a little overwhelming to think about all of the fonts and colors that are available, which is probably why I’m going for my MPA and not a degree in graphic design.
I remember a presentation I saw a couple of years ago on the renovation of the Empire State Building lobby and retail shops. They actually designed a brand new font for the building, which the owners of the building bought the rights to so that they could have it all to themselves.
