It can be daunting as a student of the arts or sciences at a predominantly business-focused school. Our aim is to let Weissman students know there is space for them to grow and succeed at Baruch! As a Junior and an English major in Weissman, I know first-hand how important it is to share knowledge with fellow peers, ensuring we are all made aware of the opportunities and help our amazing departments have to offer.
One of the most important resources we have is our faculty. In October the English Department sent out an email regarding their new advising initiative, giving English majors a chance to connect with a faculty member who will be their assigned advisor. It is not mandatory; however, this is a great opportunity for English majors to discuss academic concerns, learn more about courses and programs, or explore job options and future steps one on one. The link to fill out the Google form is here: Baruch English Advisement Questionnaire (google.com).
Be on the lookout for tips and topics important to Weissman students in future newsletters!
