Career Planning During The Winter Break

Winter break is finally here! As you celebrate the holiday season or simply enjoy some time off, it is important to take some time to stay connected with career readiness.

Here are some tips to keep you on top of career planning during the break:

  1. Edit your resume as needed. Ensure everything is up to date and information is adequately added or removed where necessary

2. Discover new opportunities. Internships are still being posted and accepting applications. Dedicate some of your time to sort through potential opportunities that interest you.

3. Explore and connect. Attend events, network, reach out for informational interviews, visit new places. Building personal connections and familiarizing yourself with the area you plan to work in can make career planning less challenging. You may even discover something new about yourself and new career prospects!

4. Utilize career services! Starr is open during the winter session Monday-Friday 9:00am-5:00pm to provide any help and guidance you may need.

Planning for the future can be intimidating, but utilizing any free time you have wisely can help take the weight off little by little. It is also crucial to be mindful and do only as much as you can without overwhelming yourself. Congratulations on completing a wonderful semester! Have a restful break and holiday season.
