Customer Assumptions

For my best friend Pablo, I came up with these four assumptions for my product to be successful in the marketplace. At first, I assumed that he needed a detachable treadmill that could fit into his little apartment. This is easy to test with just one question. I believe that leading a healthy lifestyle is the most important thing in people’s lives.

Another assumption is that I made my best friend Pablo willing to go back to exercise and have better health. This is not very important but easy to test. He is actively searching the marketplace for something similar to get back into his exercise routine.

Another important assumption but a bit difficult to test, we know that my best friend Pablo has a high-risk disease, which is diabetes, and we need to know if he can find other alternatives so that he can do his exercise routine. The most reasonable thing to do would be to find a detachable treadmill that would fit in his little apartment.

The last assumption not so important and difficult to test, would be that Pablo starts exercising without leaving home so that he can have a better healthy lifestyle. We would have to find a machine that can be assembled and disassembled so that he does not take up a lot of space in his apartment.

  1. I like your inclusion of the assumption map and you’ve picked very good assumptions. When it comes to working out, sometimes it’s hard to predict how long a person might commit, I know a lot of people that buy tools they end up not using.

  2. These assumptions really helped me understand why you decided to create your product for your friend. These are very important statements about the design and thinking of your customer. I wonder what his feedback will be like

  3. really good assumptions, but I think there is a contradiction between two of your assumptions. one assumption says your friend is actively looking for a treadmill while another assumption says that he is gaining weight rapidly. this may not be your fault but I think if those two things are true, he should at least start doing something since if he recognizes his problem
