This in-class workshop was very helpful for the Compare and Contrast paper. I wanted to focus on the topic of Jim and Huck’s relationship but I realized that the idea I had in mind was too standard and general. The purpose of this assignment was to find “bigger ideas” within the novel. So I decided to tweak my idea to make it more of a unique and different analysis of my chosen topic. My peer reviewer was a great help in telling me what I needed to do and she also helped me come up with my new prompt for the assignment.
After the workshop I realized that I just needed to work on making my idea less generalized and standard. My paper was okay overall but it still needs some changes. My peer reviewer also told me that my essay flowed very well and it was organized in a way for her to easily read through the essay. This workshop really helped in planning out my paper and knowing what needs to be fixed.
