In my neighborhood there are two bakeries. One is on St. Nicholas and the other is on Audubon. One of the key significant things I noticed is where they are located. St. Nicholas is more of a busy street. You have a lot of stores accessible to you that you can consume products from. Whereas Audubon has more services that you can receive. For example, hair salons and barbershops. I say this because the amount of customers that the bakery in St. Nicholas has is more than the bakery in Audubon. When having a business I believe your location is important as it can determine the customers you attract.
One of the majors I chose was marketing management. The main focus is to built and better your relationship with your customers. Both bakeries exceed at this but from experience the bakery in St. Nicholas surpasses these expectations more. For one they have more workers. The workers are always attentive and kind and make sure that you are content with your order. This is a great thing as it attracts more people to their business. Washington Heights is mainly a Spanish community. A student with a Spanish major may ask, how does one communicate with someone who doesn’t speak Spanish? Some of the workers may not be fluent in English but they know more than enough to be able to communicate and understand what is being asked. The last major I chose was finance. Where do their investments go? To their business. With the money they make they buy more products to be able to make more breakfasts, cakes, sweets and more to give back to the community.
This is a thoughtful basis for a comparison, Crisleydi! Each of your questions could be the beginning of a deeper comparative analysis.
As a marketing major, I agree that networking with your customers can build relationships, improving your chances of them returning and recommending the business.
I found it compelling how when you introduced your majors, you later on started referring them to how the store actually relates the store is able to market themselves as they are very friendly with the people in the community etc.
