ENG 2100: Writing 1 with Jay Thompson

Week 6 Blog post Eric Noah

One thing in my neighborhood that truly stands out is the park. The park is filled with people of all ages, races, religions, and all there to do the same thing have fun. The park in my neighborhood is broken up into three sections the playground for children, basketball/ handball courts, and the football field. Not just kids enjoy the park older people are also seen on walks and playing cards enjoying their day. Its a place with such a happy environment. The slides and swings have always filled, the courts and fields are always packed with joyful people just having a good time. It’s just amazing scenery with beautiful green trees so many people it’s a true staple to my neighborhood. Growing up in my neighborhood I practically lived in the park if it was just running around the playground or playing pickup basketball with friends it was the best place to be. The park brings so much joy to so many people due to the amazing environment and scenery.

I added 2 more lines on the age group and scenery of the park. I added it because of how important attention to detail is when it comes to describing and analyzing a place or an object.

  1. Thanks, Eric! One addition that’d be interesting— something to bear in mind for future analyses?— would be, how does the design of the space affect your experience of it? If the park had, say, a big green field instead of handball courts; or if the playground were smaller; or if there was a bike path through it? Another source of comparison: how is it like, or different from, other parks in the neighborhood?
