EOC sat down with former EOC Mentee, Jason Wang, to check in on what he has been up to since graduation.
EOC: What was your major and what year did you graduate?
JW: I graduated from Baruch College June 2010. My major was Finance and my minor was Communication Studies.
EOC: Where are you working now?
JW: I’m currently working at Citigroup, Inc.
EOC: What are your career goals?
JW: I hope to develop and grow my career in the business world, and eventually start a business one day and make it big. Simultaneously, I will always remain active with the community and continue to help and mentor others as much as my time permits.
EOC: What has been the most challenging aspect of your new position?
JW: The most challenging part of my new position is actually being the first full-time job in the real world. Even though I completed internships in past, they are different from full-time jobs; there are so many things to consider and so much to learn, which can be extremely rewarding.
EOC: What was the highlight of your mentorship?
JW: My mentor was certainly the highlight of my mentorship. My mentor opened my horizon to life, society and career goals.
EOC: How did the EOC mentoring program prepare you for your career?
JW: I honestly thank EOC mentoring program for shaping me into the person I am today. The program not only honed my soft skills, but helped me adapt to the business environment and introduced me to professionals through many rounds of networking events.
EOC: What are your plans to stay connected with EOC?
JW: I am very excited to have a chance to work with the Director of EOC and other passionate EOC alumni to initiate the EOC Mentee Alumni Program. This will give me an opportunity to play a role in EOC and have face time with the community. I was fortunate to have received guidance and great advice from people when needed the most; I definitely want to do the same for others and EOC will allow me to make that happen.
