Baruch Voices
Baruch voices was a fascinating event. It really related to the lives of us. it was really interesting at certain points. But i was mainly distracted at the presentation due to numerous school work assignments. But overall it was a great performance and i really enjoyed it and it was a fantastic year.

Enrichment Workshops
I personally did not feel any of the enrichment workshops were useful. Most students are busy enough with school and other responsibilities such as sports or jobs so making these workshops outside of class time was a hassle. The workshops focused more on conflicts that happen everywhere when they should have talked more about what goes on inside the school and what the school has to offer. If anything, the NYU Voices was the best one because it was somewhat entertaining and was a good way to welcome us into the school.

Brady’s Picture
I chose to use this picture because I feel it really shows how my first semester was and that is stressful. I had a very rough time transitioning with my school work and it really showed. My grades were not very high and my work was always kept until the last minute. I have to get better time management for next semester and get my work done ASAP. I completely came in underestimating college and thats why my grades are not where I want them to be.

Hello Professor,
I was just wondering if there was anything that I could do to potentially bring my grade up for the semester because where it is at right now is not the best. Also I was wondering if I could still send in the answers to the take home test that was due on the 6th. I apologize for not doing so sooner. I know it is very late and I should have had it earlier however I have the answers if you can still count the quiz.
Thank You,
Brady Ambro

Baruch Voices
The best I could say about the Voices is tht it was comical and entertaining. If it was supposed to symbolize our experience here at Baruch then unfortunately I did not see the connection. That still does not take away from the fact that I enjoyed the voices. I do wish Asif’s monologue was performed because that one was hilarious. I would love to find out how the Baruch Voices changes over the course of my time at this school!

My favorite performance during freshman seminar has to be the creative play that the NYU students put on for Baruch. It was very original and targeted many of the issues college students, and teens overall face on a daily basis. The students managed to combine serious topics with humor that not only lightened the mood, but made it much more entertaining. I was actually interested in their performance, even though most of the issues they disussed have been presented to us since early high school, they managed to add a new twist and keep the audience’s attention. Therefore I enjoyed their performance the best.

Joshua Cohen- Post #4
Out of all the workshops my favorite was Baruch voices. despite the fact that it fell out during registration time i thought the whole ideas of performing students ideas was amazing. The people that performed these monologues really made you feel and understand the thoughts of the person that wrote them. I thought all the performances were performed extremely well. Another great aspect of Baruch voices was it shared common ideas of students and it made everyone able to relate to one another.

Enrichment Sessions
My favorite enrichment session thingy was the NYU performance about your first semester in college. I felt it was useful and it provided important information in a funny way. I also really liked the Baruch Voices thing. Well, most of it. Some of the monologues were over the top and way to dark and depressing. The other enrichment programs were all right, but I could have lived without them.

My First Semester

There is a link to my picture if you wish to view it. My first semester was fine with one exception: I WAS TIRED ALL THE DAMN TIME! Don’t take morning classes. You’re setting yourself up for a bad time. I like my sleep so these classes were self destructive. I never came on time and I was exhausted all day. I did do well in these classes, but they still ruined my day. So in summary, avoid morning classes at all costs.

Monologue- Monica Rivera
posting it just in case! I emailed the instructor my monologue but didn’t post it here!
My name is Monica Rivera and I always dreamed of immersing myself into a fantasy world, a world where you can have superpowers and use them to accomplish many things in life such as helping others. I wish for a paradise of beautiful landscapes filled with kind people who don’t know the meaning of hatred, jealously, or negative feelings. Living in the city, people rarely know their neighbor, so it would be nice for people to have a sense of community. Who wouldn’t want superpowers? My personal favorites would be power over the elements, especially fire and ice. Fire because I consider myself very passionate person. I also believe that you should go through life with enthusiasm even if you aren’t that interested in the topic. It’s better than using a monotonic voice. That isn’t living! I also play video games that include magic spells and stuff like that. I grew up with many pets. I’ve had dogs, cats, birds, and turtles. I think I have become more attached to my family and friends because of the time my birds escaped through the open window when their cage was left open. I realized that you never know how much time you have with a loved one, whether they are your friends, family, or cherished pet. I consider myself a very emotional person and deeply care about the people who have been there for me. After I hopefully get a good paying job, I would like to travel around the world with my friends and family, and encounter places where there are kind people that have the great sense of community I have always longed for my entire life.
