McDonalds is one of the most successful Quick Service Restaraunt chains in the world. This burger chain giant has strategically named one of its most iconic meals. The “Happy Meal” is meant for children as it has smaller portions of food and comes bagged with a toy. The name is suppose to evoke a sense of joy, customers and children are almost told to think in a particular way when associating with this food. The golden arches of McDonalds can be seen almost anywhere and identified within seconds, brand association has made this company billions of dollars in revenue over the years through the use of rhetoric. Imagine if this item was names sad meal? You would think differently about the contents of the bag and your purchase in general.
