Schedule for peer review

Hi everyone: I’ve tried to create groups based on what you’re working on for the second close reading essay. If your name is not on the list, you probably haven’t sent me your proposal yet (or something went wrong). If so, let me know asap.

For Thursday, everyone is going to upload their first drafts as a post. Over the weekend, you’ll give feedback on your group mates’ drafts with Hypothes.is. Since you’re working on roughly the same topics with your group, you should be able to give focused feedback. You might ask someone to give more depth or detail, to add citations or other evidence to support their argument, or to be more concise or clear. You can also let your peer know if you think the overall argument is strong and well-supported throughout the essay. If not, you can give some advice on how to improve.

I’ll check in as well over the weekend to see how the peer-review process is going and to give extra feedback if necessary. Try to finish your peer-review sessions by Sunday at noon so that everyone has enough time to make revisions.
