Essay grades and a friendly reminder

Hi everyone,

I hope you’re enjoying your Spring Break and finding at least a little time to enjoy the nice weather.

I’ve graded your essays and will send you yours back with comments today (I used the comment function in Word–make sure you have that turned on to see my comments and your grade). If you have any questions, please feel free to ask.

Also, please remember to sign up for a group for the final project by the end of the day today. You can find a link to the sign up sheet under “final project guidelines” on the site.

Finally, as we discussed in our last class before the break, your “online work” for these two weeks is to take an art selfie (you in front of a work of art–in the Met, MoMa, Whitney, Brooklyn Museum, or any other form of popular or ‘street’ art). Post this photo with a paragraph or two of analysis (a la the “close looking” exercises we’ve done in class). Deadline is next Friday, April 21st.

I’ll email you again early next week with the readings and work for our first class after the break, during which we’ll discuss T’ang Poetry. In the meantime, let me know if you have any questions about the essays, final project, or anything else.
