Freedom Within Their Own Home

In the 1950’s, most families owned a television set or household appliances. Such items, in a sense, provided freedom to families within their homes. The television would allow families to freely watch shows whenever they wanted without having to leave their home and go to the theatre. Household appliances, such as the dishwasher, provided families, especially women, with more freedom. With assistance from these appliances, they were able to get their job done faster and efficiently, which would provide with more time to do whatever they wished.
