This song is called A great day of freedom by the famous rock band Pink Floyd. It was released in 1994 in the album Division Bell. The message is quite confusing but they are trying to say gaining freedom is quite hard but if one puts their mind to it, they will get it. However, obtaining freedom the easy way out will eventually come back and hurt. Also, they are saying that freedom comes with hard earned work or patience but when violence is used to get a sense of freedom, there are consequences. This song is different from the one I posted because Pink Floyd’s point of view comes differently than Richie Havens. Pink Floyd is trying to say that freedom comes with peaceful ways instead of violence. Richie’s song symbolizes being thankful for freedom.
