The Knights of Labor was the largest and probably most important labor union formed in the 1880’s. With it’s legacy, it made way for future labor unions to be formed with similar ideology and goals. They accepted people that during the time wouldn’t be heard working. Unskilled and skilled workers came together. Blacks and whites, men and women. All were gathered by the union to change the way labor is in the 1880’s. Strikes and boycotts were formed to get what they want.

Although expressing the good side to the Knights of Labor, they did not like the chinese immigrants very much. Being chinese myself I am a bit dishearten when i researched into the K.o.L. Since the chinese immigrants worked for such low wages, they were “stealing” the jobs of american citizens. In my opinion, if the chinese immigrants worked harder, longer, and lower wages, even taking jobs Americans don’t even have an interest in doing, I don’t see the problem with that.
