New students

Welcome & Congratulations on your acceptance into the Baruch Honors Program! We are excited to get to know you and to have you join our community. Please review important information below and feel free to contact us if you have any questions or concerns.

  • Admitted Students Day:
    • In-person on Sunday, April 6, 1pm-2pm at the Baruch Admitted Student Event
    • In-person on Friday, April 11, 9am-3pm for Honors for a Day. RSVP here.
    • Learn about the benefits of our program, connect with current honors scholars, hear from campus representatives, meet the Honors Advisors, and more!

 


  • Plan to Attend Your Mandatory Orientation(s)
    • Baruch College Honors Orientation: Thursday, June 12, 2025 from 9:00am to 3:30pm; will be in-person (doors open at 8:30am)
    • Macaulay Orientation: Monday, August 18, 2025 & Tuesday, August 19, 2025 (see details here)

*Macaulay Scholars must attend both events. See the Orientation section below for more details*

  • Prepare for Convocation
    • Baruch’s Fall 2025 Student Convocation is Monday, August 25th. Convocation Day is the official opening ceremony held for all of our first year students. This is a defining event where you will be formally inducted into the College and have the opportunity to hear from College leaders, attend your first First Year Seminar (FYS 1000H) class of the semester, and participate in engaging programs.
    • Students will be required to read the First-Year Text prior to this event.

What does it mean to be an Honors student at Baruch?  Let us help you build (and connect) the pieces of your education.

Honors Orientation – Thursday, June 12, 2025 from 9:00am to 3:30pm (doors open at 8:30am)

At orientation, you will:

  • Meet other Baruch students and your Honors advisor/First-Year Seminar instructor
  • Get your student ID
  • Connect with student leaders such as our Honors Ambassadors
  • Learn about the Honors program requirements
  • Enjoy a student-led campus tour, with stops at Honors Study Room and Lounge.
  • Begin learning about the courses you will take in your first semester
  • Receive information on your next steps (AP scores, registration changes, etc.)
  • Enjoy lunch and most of all, Have fun!!!

*Students must complete the mandatory Math placement exam prior to attending orientation; see additional details here*


After orientation

  • Send your official AP scores and other college credit
  • Read about Pathways, the general education curriculum
  • Review the BCTC Tutorial to obtain your Baruch Username and Baruch email address and then Claim your BaruchMail (email account).  You’ll need the last 4 digits of your SSN. See further instructions.
  • Submit immunization documentation
  • Complete the online curriculum module which is required to finalize your Fall class schedule.
  • Meet with your Advisor to discuss your first-year schedule block, transfer credits, and any questions you have about the transition to college. Your Honors Advisor will email you information after orientation with steps to scheduling an appointment.

BARUCH CONVOCATION: Monday, August 25th

Macaulay and Baruch Scholars may request to defer for one year, due by the deposit deadline. For the complete policy, see the request deferral form.
