Week Six: The Clue
The Final Two have found their clue, viewers! Would you like to know what they found?
The Final Two have found their clue, viewers! Would you like to know what they found?
Dearest Viewers,
As you may have noticed, our delightful little “Thanksgiving Spacial” was cut short following the debate between Mr. Baudelaire and Ms. Rossetti. What occurred was quite simple: Ms. Rossetti forfeited the debate, and upon realizing that she would be automatically expelled from the House, suffered a bit of a nervous breakdown. She was removed from the House by a team of our producers, and is now recovering nicely along with the rest of her decapitated HouseAuthors. Of course, this ordeal greatly shook Mr.’s Baudelaire, Kafka, and Melville, so please pardon their occasional odd remark – it was a very troubling few minutes for them all, but they’ve all agreed to continue on to the final week!
Alright viewers, we’ve heard your voices! The tension between two certain HouseAuthors has flown under the radar for long enough, let’s bring it all up to a boil just in time for this festive weekend!
Over the next few days, we’ll be holding a special debate between Charles Baudelaire and Christina Rossetti where they’ll be free to bring up anything they wish to discuss with one another in their work. The winner will be chosen by their fellow HouseAuthors, Franz Kafka and Herman Melville. The loser will be decapitated, while the winner will progress to the Final Three!
Is there any substance to the feud between the two? Is is hatred, or admiration? Attraction? What is it about the writings of these two poets that’s caused so much trouble and backlash in the House? Well, lovely viewers, it’s time to find out!
Adored HouseAuthors, I’m sure you’re all curious to know why the regular scheduled events of our fourth week of Literary Big Brother did not appear on our blog. While the usual challenges and ceremonies did take place, we were unable to post transcripts due to a period of momentary unrest in our Realm. I do not wish to go into details about the incident, but I can say with absolute certainty that the opposition has been vanquished!
To make up for the lack of posts – and to get us up to Week Five quicker – I’ve asked the HouseAuthors to put on a little show for you all! The posts which will follow this one will be an extended recap of the events that transpired in the House during Week Four. They will cover everything from the Ideal Reveal to the Exit Interview, and will feature all the remaining HouseAuthors and myself.
I hope you enjoy this unique way of telling you this week’s story!
Esteemed Viewers, please feel free to partake in any and all of the following polls once you’ve caught up with all of the exciting events that took place this past week! Your opinions matter greatly to us, and remember, if we receive enough of a response from you… we may decide to allow you all to vote off a HouseAuthor all by yourselves later on in the game! So get voting!
POLL #2 – Who should have won the first Head Thinker Challenge?
POLL #3 – Who should have Ms. Woolf saved with the Power of Reason?
POLL #4 – Was the right HouseAuthor decapitated?
Dear Viewers,
As you may know, today was supposed to be the first Guillotine Ceremony of our little game. Mr. Melville, as Head Thinker, was tasked with choosing two of his fellow HouseAuthors to be put up for decapitation. When it came time for the ceremony, however, Mr. Melville locked himself in his room, and refused to come out to fulfill his obligations as Head Thinker. No matter what the HouseAuthors said to him, all Mr. Melville responded with was “I’d prefer not to.” We are currently dealing with the situation as we speak, but our producers believe it is in everyone’s best interests if the ceremony is postponed until tomorrow afternoon.
Fret not, faithful viewers! Once reason reaches Mr. Melville’s ears, the game shall be back even bigger and better than before!
Our ten HouseAuthors have arrived at the Enlightened House, and all appear ready to compete. They’ve been given some free time to settle in and get to know one another.
Tolstoy has taken the initiative to redecorate the House, but the general consensus among the rest of the HouseAuthors is that nothing he does really looks any different from how the House looked before. Woolf and Sor Juana left the common area to talk further out in the backyard, leaving Rossetti alone to listen to Baudelaire reminisce about a particular trip to the park he took a few weeks ago. In the kitchen, Xun suffered a panic attack after opening the bread drawer. He’s expected to make a full recovery in time for Tuesday’s Head Thinker Challenge.
