So get voting!

Week Two: Power of Reason Challenge

Your Ideal this week, HouseAuthors, deals with how you and your societies view the role of women. Some of you see women as your playthings, and some of you fight to prove that us women are just as good as men. A noble, noble crusade. Your challenge this week will “reflect” how you see women. Before you is a “selfie” of me. The “selfie” is an archaic form of self-portrait usually associated with the desire to garner attention to your most beautiful attributes. Silly notions of physical beauty are but a thing of the past here, but we felt the choice to the “selfie”. Behind you are eight dolls. Only one of these dolls is an accurate representation of my “selfie.” Through predetermined numbering, you will all, one by one, choose a doll and place it on the pedestal.

If your choice is correct, then congratulations, you’ve won! If you choose wrong, then I shall take it personally since you clearly aren’t noticing my face well enough to choose the right doll. Are you ready to begin?

Week Two: Head Thinker Challenge

HouseAuthors, please enter the Challenge Tower to begin the Head Thinker Challenge. Your Ideal this week is: Female Equality/Societal Views of Women.

As was done last week, our expert team of literary researchers have determined which HouseAuthors are most capable of performing well in this challenge are: Charles Baudelaire, Jean-Baptiste Poquelin, Christina Rossetti, Juana Inés de la Cruz, Rabindranath Tagore, and Virginia Woolf. Franz Kafka, Herman Melville, and Lu Xun are banned from competing this week. Furthermore, this debate shall be done in three stages. In the first round, three groups of two HouseAuthors will put forth a line from one of their texts that they feel best describes their attitudes towards women. I will judge their submissions and choose the winners from each pair. The winners of that round will move on to an instant elimination round, with each of the three remaining HouseAuthors voting to eliminate one of the other two competitors. There will be no tiebreaker, so some agreement must be reached before the challenge can continue. In the third and final round, the last two HouseAuthors will debate one another, and I will again choose a winner.

LET THE DEBATE BEGIN!!!

Week Two: Ideal Reveal

Welcome to Week Two, HouseAuthors! For tomorrow’s Head Thinker Challenge, please be prepared to show evidence in your texts that supports this week’s Enlightenment Ideal: Female Equality/Societal Views of Women.

This is sure to be an exciting challenge, for quite a number of you focus on these issues. And not only that, but you’ll find a strong competitor in the esteemed Ms. Woolf and Sor Juana. If Ms. Woolf wins, she’ll be the most powerful player in terms of victories alone. You better start prepping, gentlemen!

To help guide you in the direction I wish this debate to go tomorrow, please note that the winning HouseAuthor will be arguing in support of this realized Ideal in our Realm. Here, we’ve successfully fought to eliminate male oppression, and every right a man had, a woman has now! In fact, you could say that women are the new men here.

That is, if we… No, I shouldn’t reveal too much so soon! Ah, that’s it! I’ll reveal a key characteristic of my Realm to the HouseAuthor that’s voted to be decapitated at the end of the week!

Best of luck to you all!
