While researching stakeholder resistance in nonprofit organizations, I came across the following New York Times article:

When considering the question “How do nonprofit stakeholders exert influence”, I was somewhat close-minded in that I focused on those stakeholders which are believed to possess the most “power” (Donors, funders, board members, management, etc.).
This article highlights that even stakeholders which may be considered less powerful can still influence or have some impact on an organization and their policies. I found this article particularly interesting because these are very young girls and they are using the skills that the Girls Scouts organization has equipped them with (leadership, empowerment, a sense of social responsibility) to hold the organization accountable in terms of fulfilling their mission statement.
