Croton Harmon: A Friendly Community

Croton on Hudson is a small suburban area in Westchester county that resides a small population of about 8000 people. This village is located in the town of Corlandt Manor and his been somewhat of a main attraction to foreign neighborhoods wanting to see the popular landscapes of the area. Even though I was never born in Croton, I was fortunate enough by the Grace of God to attend the school districts and indulge in its many amenities. Croton is a town full of excitement but its funny that many people don’t really see it or even try to delve into what it can offer. It’s a small and quiet town and many families just live there for the distance away from the noisy cities and because they want to have their children go through a good school system. There are so many places that are very elegant and spontaneously try to be inviting to the community.

I started from 5th grade at 10 yo and have went through the school system all the way to high school. My experience in this town has been a joyful one. I was able to gain a lot of friends and even establish myself in the community through sports. Because of the Recreational Department I was able to play many sports like; little league baseball, flag football, basketball and my favorite was AYSO soccer. I continued to play sports through middle school and high school. I felt that that kept me busy and occupied throughout my days. My school years growing up in that town was very fun, even uplifting, but I would always travel to my family that resided in Queens for grounding. I always looked forward to the weekends^_^. This town and the people I encountered opened my eyes to many different things in this world and because of that I am forever grateful.

  1. It’s crazy how much scale there is in this, you have the smallish town but also have these huge landscapes and waterfalls. It almost feels like they’re not connected, I know this is late, but if you could get the school/a landmark of the town in frame with waterfalls/mountains that would connect everything much more.
