The first annual Chilifest was held at and hosted by Hill Country Barbecue on 26th Street in New York City. Attendees tasted chili from four contestants and voted for the People’s Choice Award. A panelist of chili connoisseurs judged the contestants chili for the grand prize. All in all, over 100 people attended the first annual event. Hill Country Barbecue raised over $1,000 for City Harvest to help combat hunger in NYC.
