Three specific things that stood out to me within all the readings was that, Gen Z are likely to be the most educated generation, the most digitally native, and politically active. The reason why is because as a person from this generation I can say that this is correct. Since we grew up in such a divided and negative world full of hatred and injustice, it’s almost as if we all subconsciously unified and realized that we are the ones that will create a reform and change this..no matter how many don’t like it or oppose it. I feel like these articles do capture some of the essence of our generation, but it does fail to really shine light on the power and ruthlessness that we contain. That most of us, are willing to give up our lives to justice because our parents, most of which are baby boomers or generation X have also gone through bad periods and a bad system. With the difference that instead of fixing it, just passed it on. And with the knowledge we now have, we do not wish to pass it on, we will fix it. After reading these articles I do feel a little more confident in my generation, like although we do spend a lot of time on social media or don’t know how to socialize properly due to gaslighting and narcissisms/trauma from our traumatized and closed up parents, we still have it in us.

I want to know more about your perception of your parents’ generation – particularly the gaslighting!
