Am I really happy?
So here is my monologue I guess…
I consider myself to be a happy person. Nothing really bothers me and I’m lucky I’m not living through many hardships. The important people in my life that make me happy are my family , friends, and my boyfriend. Things like painting, drawing, dancing, and listening to music relaxes me and puts me in a great mood. I guess I feel content with my life…
But sometimes when I’m sitting at home doing nothing I wonder what if my life was different. What if I had the chance to explore new places? What if I had the opportunity to travel to different countries, to explore the deepest of woods and the darkest of caves? What if right now going to college is not what I really want to be doing? Maybe I’ve always dreamed of a more exciting life. But I suppose that to be able to live a life full of adventure and excitement I’d have to take more risks than I am willing. I don’t believe I can handle living without stability. If I dropped everything to explore the world I would probably end up living in a box and stuck in one place forever. So maybe college is the first step to these fantasies coming true? I guess right now I’m not really content. I’m living life one day at a time following the crowd. But I guess thats all I can do. Without this education I wont be able to get a job and support whatever fantasies I may dream up now and in the future.
ugh I don’t know how my monologue ended up like this haha. oh wells. here’s a picture of myself.

HAPPY HALLOWEEN! :]
Monologue Post
This Blog is based off of the freewrite I wrote I dont remember when…. I Identify myself by my first name John. But some people and some of my past teammates know me as Bones. Bones used to be my dads nickname back in college and now I took it over. We get that name from my last name Bohnenblusch this way people dont say my long ass last name they say bones. Also because thats all I am skin and BONES. Some roles that I play in, would be a leader and a role model. Im a leader because I was chosen to be the captain of my high school and travel volleyball teams. Im a role model to younger kids that are persuing an interest in the sport that I love volleyball. Every kid that I have helped I know I gave 100% of what I know to help the little kids out. The most important things to me would be my Dad, Mom, Grandma, Sister And my Girlfriend because with out them I wouldnt be writing this blog post in Baruch College today. Where Do I live? I live in Manorville New York which is on the East side of Long Island it is approx. 10 to 15 mins away from Riverhead or an hour away from Montauk.

My biggest accomplishment would be making the Heroes and Cool Kids program at my high school. This is a prestigious program where I would visit middle school kids, who think of me as a role model, and talk to them about drugs, sex, alcohol, and their future. Although this might never show up on my resume, or even have any effect on me getting a job or such, I still think this was a huge deal for me because Drugs, Sex, and alcohol are huge problems of today’s generation. And the best thing we can do it talk to the younger generation and tell them how important it is to know the facts and hopefully help them keep them away from such things. Also I loved to talk about their future, and how they’re the future of tomorrow. They need to understand that they are the change the world needs. I love making a difference in kids life and it feels good to know that when these kids grow up – they’ll remember me and do the right thing.

For me my biggest accomplishment has to be getting accepted into Baruch College after getting rejected twice. I knew that it was up to me to make this happen and decided i could get accepted so thats when i befriended the president of the school and asked for his consideration and a month later i was accepted. i have many goals and ways of seeing myself in the near future so in four years i want to be a successful investment banker and also have multiple assets in real estate. having the opportunity to work right out of graduating would be a great boost for my plans and goals. I love to give back to the community and lend a hand whenever there is a chance thats why almost every saturday i go to my church and make baskets of dietary essential foods which can be a great help for those in need. In ten years from today i see myself as one of the heads in an investment back also having my own firm and almost finished my law degree as well. I also want to establish charities and maintain true to myself and my origin never change.

Who I Think I Am?
To my classmates I think they see me as an athletic, nice, quiet guy, who keeps to himself. I would like to be seen as a person who doesn’t seem cocky in how he acts in school or how he talks to people in class. From 7th grade my life has been surrounded by the sport of volleyball. Volleyball to me is more of a need then a want in my eyes. My life has been impacted greatly by the people I have met through the volleyball. For example, one person who has noticeably changed my volleyball career is my high school varsity volleyball coach. My coach has helped me become one of the top volleyball players in Suffolk County. If it wasn’t for my coach I don’t think I would have continued or committed so extensively to volleyball. My senior year of high school volleyball was one of the greatest seasons I’ve been a part of. Volleyball is such a big part of my life that I joined the best Long Island Volleyball club that existed. With my travel team I have traveled to California, Wisconsin, Minnesota, Virginia, Texas, and Illinois. If it wasn’t for my volleyball skills i don’t believe I would be going to this College.

I love music. Ever since I was a kid my family would gather around to sing and play and just have a blast. In my early years, I took piano lessons and realized that I had an incredible musical ear and that’s when I took off. At church, I learned how to play the drums and took over once the drummer moved to California. I began to write songs at the age of 12 and almost landed a deal with a local production company to sing a couple songs on a cd for a famous Indie Bachata artist but that fell through. Ever since then, music continued as a hobby to me. I like to meet up with friends, hangout and show them songs which they’ve never heard before, they like to say I should be a dj! I love jazz/big band/swing, hence the first few songs on the playlist. One day i stumbled upon a song on pandora by Louis Armstrong called “West End Blues” and that started my love for the genre. I listen that kind of music often because it makes me feel good. The instruments, the lyrics, everything is just perfect and it seems to display class, which is something that i like to carry myself with. The last two songs on the playlist are hiphop. I LOVE hiphop. I am a person who like to drive really fast and whenever i’m driving, hiphop always hypes me up and makes me drive faster…that’s soooo bad, I know, but hey, I’m a business man, and business men take risks, and you better believe that one of the risks I take is driving fast. I like to rap too! I’m pretty good at freestyling. Whenever there is a hot beat, If i’m feeling it, i’ll kill it. Rap is fun man, it comes from the soul like A Tribe Called Quest, one of the first, original rap groups ever known. They come from Queens, NY., and believe it or not, most Rap artist admit to the fact that they mainly started rapping because of them. Kanye West, Common, Pharell, Jay-Z, 50 Cent, a lot of these big, well known rappers were featured on their documentary “Beats, Rhymes and Life” saying this. But of course, nothing compares to the blues man, Miles Davis, Coltrane, these are the people who originate music, people from the early 20’s, a time of peace a happiness in America, and a time where music actually meant something. I love music, that’s why I chose to do a ten song playlist for this entry. In my opinion, if it weren’t for music, we would not know what creativity is. And I thank those who take the time out to create a pattern of sounds that can actually suit our ears to confort, even if I don’t like the kind of music you listen to, and boy i’m picky. PEACE!

As you can see I love to party. this dance music cheers me up because whenever I’m down , it can get me pumped up! These songs are in order in the ways i love it because they all have there own beat. there are times where i like relaxing music like coldplay but most of the time when I’m on the train and driving my car i like to blast this selected playlist . I have this playlist titled party so i can go on it whenever i would like too. Even though people see myself as a shy kid you can always see the party side of me because i always love to be happy . Happy is the way of life and i love to live that life. Key of life is to succeed and this is a way that helps me succeed

Hey guys! So from what I’ve read it looks like I’m not the only one who’s new to the blogging thing. Which is good, no pressure. I decided to do a playlist of songs. Some of them describe me, which is difficult because I feel like that’s a constantly changing playlist, and some songs are just part of what makes me who I am. I come from a very musical family and there are some songs that tie very strongly to memories.
- Milord by Edith Piaf. This song is my grandmas favorite, and when my mom was growing up it was a tradition to listen to Edith Piaf on Saturday mornings while everyone cleaned the house and did chores. My mom brought this tradition to my family. Even though I’m not at home, I still listen to this while I clean my dorm room, though I like to do it on Friday mornings.
- Let It Be by the Beatles. My dad plays the guitar, and when I was little this was the first songs I knew all the words to because he would play it and we sang together.
- So Long Dearie from the musical Hello Dolly. I started doing musicals at school when I was in fourth grade and stuck with it for every year until I graduated. Hello Dolly is my all time favorite musical and Dolly Levi is my dream role, so if it every comes back to Broadway I will be the first in line to audition.
- Feeling Good, the Nina Simone version. I love this song because it has a subtle way of saying “look around you and enjoy what the world is offering you”, which a lot of times I have a tendency to forget to do.
- She Don’t Want A Man by Asher Roth. This is one of my favorite songs. I love to dance to it and I listen to it whenever I’m getting ready to go out. I love Asher Roth and I think this is a perfect description of what it’s like to be a girl that just going out to have some fun.
- The Remedy by Jason Mraz. I had to put at least on of his songs in here because I love his music. I chose the remedy because this was the first song I ever heard of his, and it was right around the time that I was starting to explore my own taste in music.
- Caught In A Daze by David Dallas. I have a serious tendency to let myself get caught in a daze, and sometimes it can be a great thing, like when I’m writing or I’m focused on something I’m working on. Unfortunately most of the time I get caught in a daze of laziness and it’s kind of an issue.
- Look What They Done To My Song, the Ray Charles version. There is literally a Ray Charles song for any mood you could ever be in and it’s almost embarrassing how much of his music I have in my iTunes. For the most part I listen to him when I’m studying or reading but some songs, like this one, are better for when I just want to be giddy and hop around like a fool
Julius Del Rosario
Hey everyone. So I’ve never really blogged before but here it goes…
My name is Julius Del Rosario as you can see from the title -.-. I was born in the Philippines and lived there for 7 years until I moved to New York. My hobbies include playing basketball, watching movies/TV shows (specifically comedies), practicing Taekwondo, and just relaxing. Something about myself is that I’m a really easygoing type of guy – well except when it comes to tests and projects…when I’m the typical stressed asian kid trying to get a 100 lol.
My experience so far here in Baruch has been great. I’ve met a lot of new people and have really enjoyed the college atmosphere. I’ve been spending most of my free time in the school gym playing basketball and I’ve met a lot of great people there. As for my classes, most of them have been going well so far. I can barely understand philosophy though…wth is going on there???
I guess that’s it for now. Looking forward to the rest of the year~
