On Historical Sources

Historical sources can be primary and secondary. Primary sources are usually original sources that represent facts from the first-hand point of view. They are usually written by those who observed an event themselves, participated in it directly or reference official documents etc. Secondary sources are second-hand sources. They retell the information from original sources and often offer an opinion or an alternative interpretation of a primary source.
