by Edmond Tai Posted on October 5, 2010 Immigrants were waiting to be examined as they arrive in Ellis Island. Ships that arrived between 7AM and 5PM were examined, but ships that arrived after 5PM were anchored for the night. Immigrants had to live in and share small rooms which they called their home. The photo is of an NYC tenement for immgrants. This entry was posted in KM24, October 5 Assignment and tagged Ellis Island, examination, immigrants, tenements. Bookmark the permalink.
