Patriotism hit America hard during World War 1. Americans were afraid of the spread of Communism and Anarchism. They did anything they could to promote patriotism. During this time patriotism was everywhere; fliers, advertisement, and the American flag was posted everywhere. The use of propaganda to promote the idea of patriotism lead many Americans to feel patriotic everywhere they went. Americans started to have extreme pride for America.
